Thomas Chapin Trio opens this Fest in 1995, w/Mario
Pavone and Michael Sarin. In humble hommage to hero
Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Chapin plays two horns at once
in “Night Bird Song.” Shown on Public Television.

“School Crossing” Award-winning short, documentary film
Produced and directed by Terri Castillo-Chapin; 5 mins. color. Music soundtrack by Thomas Chapin (gong, flute, electric piano, voice).
Montage images set to music of a small NYC village (Jackson Heights, Queens) waking up centering around the school crossing guard (Fran Frady), with ariel views of central crosswalk and crossing guard, and village rooftops w/Manhattan in distance, Catholic school, uniformed children, yellow school buses and parents walking with or dropping off children at school. Simple, haunting, yet lively music by Thomas Chapin.
