BEHIND
Behind steel eyes of envy
My love gives away its last precious souvenir
Behind blind eyes of fear
My knowledge commends itself to the deepest longing
Behind Red Eyes of Rage
My laughter joins hands in a fool’s dance
Behind the tearful eyes of pain
My memory transports me to a place
I must have known long ago
and have yet to see
If we look deeply enough into one another’s eyes
We can see what is BEHIND.
